The main dates in Stockmar's history:


1922:
Company is founded by Hans Stockmar. At first production was limited to manufacturing honeycomb inner walls for beekeepers.

1930:
Production of beeswax candles begins.

1939:
Modelling wax is introduced as a new product.

1949:
Transformation of the company from a sole-proprietorship into an open-trade organisation.

1952:
Wax crayons are developed, at the suggestion of art teachers from Waldorf schools.

1955:
Waxsheets are introduced as a new product.

1956:
Employees become co-partners.



1957:
Major architectural expansion of the company.

1961:
After the death of founder Hans Stockmar, the company is changed into a limited partnership.

1963:
Watercolours are developed, at the suggestion of Waldorf teachers.



1974:
Beginning of the neutralization of the company's capital.

1979:
Family members decide to neutralize the capital in a way that portions of future profits pass to a trust company.

1980:
Plans are made for a new building in the industrial area of Kaltenkirchen.
Development and introduction of natural dyes.

1982:
The company relocates to the completed new building.



1983:
Product range is expanded to include wood-cleaning products.

1996: "Farbkreisfarben" (colour-circle paints) are introduced.

1997:
Stockmar goes on-line with its first homepage.

1998:
Stockmar publishes its first information broschure for the trade.

1999:
Major expansion of Stockmar's sales promotion campaigns.

2000:
The premiere of Stockmar's new homepage-design - and much more ...

2001:
Kunst macht Sinn® (art makes sense) and the WBU® quality development system become registered trademarks.
